The simple answer to that is yes.

Web design is for people who have taken it upon themselves to learn as much as design.
The journey of being a self-taught web designer does not stop when you finally know how to design; it stops when the world is satisfied with you as a designer.
With that, you have more work to do.

The best place to learn web design for free is on YouTube. Maybe when you start making something from it, you can then switch to a paid course and learn from someone.
