What are the Elements of Web Design?
- Responsiveness: in all my days of designing a website, what I use in ranking website design is this.
How fast can your website adapt? How smooth is it to move from devices, from desktop to mobile to tablet?
Responsiveness is key to gaining more deals in web design. Better to have a responsive bad design than an irresponsive good design.
- Navigation: navigation cannot be over emphasis. If you have been to a website that you couldn’t find your way through, that is navigation.
Lol, that’s a terrible way to explain something. Anyway, as a web designer, your website should enable people to scroll from one page to another.
From one post and link to another and your menu should be smooth as possible.
- Typography; if you want customer retention, you might want to stick with this.
Typography is a better way to ask customers to spend time going through your website.
Good typography gives retention time, but bad ones drive visitors and increase the bounce rate.
- Image & color design; a good website is not complete without images. Images bring beauty to a website while perfect color combinations make the website attractive.
The wrong color combination can make your website look amateurish and a bulky write-up with an image break will make it ugly.
- Layout: this is the last element of web design. It has to do with how each of the other elements is arranged and structured.
The layout is the major arrangement of the website in perfect order. In layouts, questions like what should be on the top bar, and how much paddling should the sidebar contain are the subject matter.
The layout is a necessary element that all web designers need to pay great attention to.
